Doug Slabach

 is the heart and soul of the personal training program.  As Mitch’s Training Director and Head Trainer he is a true genius at developing results. Doug focuses on achieving long-term results through challenging and constantly varied workouts. With over 20 years in the fitness industry, his dynamic approach, boundless energy and humor add to the experience his clients enjoy.  He emphasizes strength training modalities that can be transferred from the gym to daily life.

Doug has a bachelor’s degree and is certified by NASM, IFPA, NESTA, CHEK, and Precision Nutrition.  He is an educator and teaches weekly meetings on staff education as well as weekend workshops.   Doug believes in making fitness a part of your life, creating and maintaining a positive mindset, and improvising to keep workouts effective and interesting.

I’ve worked out at Mitch’s for 21 years. The past 10 years have been the most rewarding because of my association with the gym’s Master Trainer Doug Slabach. My 5 star rating reflects that Doug is exceptionally great in his profession. He is very knowledgeable about the human body and how to care for it from the standpoint of strength, flexibility, endurance, balance and nutrition; his training methods are not cookie cutter but rather are focused on the individual.

I started with Doug at age 65 and now I’m in my mid-70’s. Through the years, Doug tailored training to meet my needs as I’ve aged. Because of Doug, today I am physically fit and in excellent health. I wish I could give ten stars to my personal trainer, Doug Slabach who works at Mitch’s Gym. If I worked with him years ago, I’d of avoided all those trips to the chiropractor.

Doug’s knowledge about the body and movement frames his creative approach to exercise. Each session offers new exercises keeping it fresh and challenging. His precision in utilizing a series of weight bearing exercises and resistance combined with his laser-like attention ensures that his client works at their edge without injury.

Training with Doug was a really smart move. The massage with the deep muscle stimulator at the end of the session isn’t bad either.
